Police Lose Weapons as Result of Domestic Violence Convictions
After Congress passed a bill last year to prevent anyone convicted of domestic violence from possessing a gun, few realized that hundreds of police officers could end up losing their weapons. As a result, dozens of police departments nationwide have had to lay off or transfer hundreds of officers with domestic violence convictions. Now, infuriated police groups stand ready to change the law.

Al Gore's Political Fundraising Scandal
The latest fundraising scandal to hit the Democratic Party landed on Vice President Al Gores lap this week. Hes being branded the solicitor-in- chief for the key role he played in raising millions for the Clinton-Gore presidential ticket.

Arafat Addresses United Nations
Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat goes to the United Nations today to drum up opposition to a new Jewish housing development slated for construction in Jerusalem. Palestinians launched a general strike earlier this week to protest the building of 6,500 homes on a hill on the southeastern outskirts of Jerusalem. Israeli officials also confirmed this week the construction of 1,500 more Jewish housing and 3,000 hotel rooms in another location outside Jerusalem.
